Frequently asked questions

Last updated:

Is Sahi Exam free?

Yes. Sahi Exam is free to use, has no ads and needs no account or sign-up.

Is this a government website?

No. Sahi Exam is an independent service and is not connected to any government body. We link to the official notification for every exam — always confirm the details there before you apply.

How does the eligibility check work?

You enter four details once: date of birth, category, highest qualification and state. For every post in every exam, we check:

  • Age: whether your date of birth falls inside the window the notice prints, after adding your category’s relaxation.
  • Qualification: whether your highest qualification meets the post’s minimum.
  • State: whether the exam is open to your state (all-India exams are open to every state).

You can also add gender, disability and ex-serviceman status. Some exams give extra age relaxation for these; if you skip them, we still show the exam, with a note to check.

How is my age counted?

Not on today’s date. Every notice fixes a cut-off date, and your age on that date is what counts. Read how age is calculated for government exams.

What is age relaxation?

Reserved categories get extra years on the upper age limit — for example, 3 years for OBC-NCL and 5 years for SC and ST in most central government exams. See our guide to age relaxation.

Where do the exam dates come from?

From the official notification and the conducting body’s official website — never from other exam websites. Every exam page links to its source and shows when it was last verified. How we verify explains our checks.

How quickly are changes updated?

Exams that are still running are checked every day for changes such as a deadline extension. Once a change is confirmed, the exam page is updated and followers get an alert.

What does “Expected” next to a date mean?

The date hasn’t been announced yet. It is our estimate and can change.

How do alerts work?

Turn on alerts after checking your eligibility, or tap Follow on any exam. Alerts arrive as browser notifications on your phone or computer, and by email once email alerts are switched on. You hear about new exams you’re eligible for, approaching last dates, and new dates (admit card, exam, result) for exams you follow. On an iPhone, first add Sahi Exam to your Home Screen.

Do I need to create an account?

No. There are no accounts or passwords. You can change your details, pause alerts or delete your data at any time in Alert settings.

Which exams do you cover?

Central and state government exams — SSC, banking, railways, defence, police, teaching, state PSC and UPSC. See all exams. Coverage grows with what students search for: if an exam is missing, search for it and turn on alerts.

I found a mistake. What should I do?

Use Report a mistake on the exam page, or contact us. Every report starts a fresh check against the official source.

What data do you keep about me?

Only what alerts need: your four details, your language, the exams you follow and a way to reach you. If you only check your eligibility, we keep nothing about you — that check happens on your device. Details are in our privacy policy.
